Medical Facilities
If you are the facilities manager or owner of a Vets Surgery, Dental Practice or Doctors Surgery; then you should be aware of your responsibilities toward health and safety, for your employees, patients & any visitors to your premises. In respect to Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) & the fixed wiring within the premises.
As from January 2012 the regulations regarding electricity has an entire section (Section 710) devoted to it within the regulations BS 7671 with very specific criteria to medical facilities. What this means in practice is that any work carried out in these premises must meet new regulations, and you should make sure that the contractor you get to undertake work at your premises is fully converse with them, like us.
The regulations go as far as to the type of medical procedure to be undertaken in each room from a massage to open heart surgery.
